When you have valuables in your home, there are a few fantastic places to hide them, and you should always be careful that you do, just in case of a home invasion. It is bad enough that the creeps may make off with your big screen, plasma, state-of-the-art television, but why should they also get your cash, and your great grandmother’s diamond ring? So, take steps to protect your things that are small and more valuable.

IF you are a home owner, you can always have a professional lift a part of the carpet, put a hole in the floor, and install a safe. An honest to goodness, made of metal, heavy duty safe, complete with a combination lock, can be under the carpet in your bedroom closet, and can conceal just about anything. Of course there is a big expense with the purchase of this type of safe, and the labor to have it installed, not to mention, a renter couldn’t really do that type of modification on a dwelling that he or she didn’t own.

Another great place to hide things is in the freezer, as crooks are not going to open the freezer, unless of course they have a sweet tooth and want to see IF you have any ice cream bars in there. IF you have cash or stock certificates or even jewelry that will be unharmed by the frigid temperatures, you can place these items in an envelope and hide them in the back of your freezer or refrigerator. This also serves as a dual protection, because in the event of a fire, chances are that while the outside of the unit may be damaged beyond repair, the interior of the fridge may be intact and able to safely protect your belongings.

Another great place to hide things is in a diversion safe, which looks just exactly like a common household product such as a can of hair spray, shaving cream or bathroom cleaner. Imagine that in your kitchen cupboard you can have what looks like a jar or peanut butter, mayonnaise, or a can of soda, but inside are actually some hidden items like those expensive watches, bracelets, and some cash!?

Diversion safes are by far; the most reasonably priced forms of protection for valuables and can be used just about anywhere and by anyone. Even the college student that shares a dorm room with someone can hide their things in a small can of what looks like motor oil or dog food. So, no matter who or where you are, protect your valuables, and feel comfortable that no one will find them!
