Effective Bedbug Control

Some people use neem oil to control bedbug re-infestation. This is proven to be an effective insect repellent. The US Food and Drug Administration has granted approval for its external use. Spray neem oil on furniture, mattress, linens, curtains, carpets, and others.

If you buy used furniture, especially mattresses, make sure that you thoroughly inspect and clean these before bringing them inside your home.

If you love to travel, use the suitcase stands in hotels, hostels, and motels if these are provided. This decreases the likelihood of getting bedbugs onto your luggage. If you happen to see cracks on the walls and floor, inform the hotel manager about it and transfer to another hotel. If you happened to stay in a bedbug-infested place, launder all your clothes and suitcases in very hot water. The water must be hot enough to kill the bedbugs and their eggs.

Another bedbug control method is using a mattress cover. After getting treated for bedbugs, seal your mattress inside a vinyl or fabric cover. This way, any bedbug or egg that was not killed in the process will no longer be able to bite you. Or, if you inadvertently carried bedbugs into your house, these will not infest the mattress.

Since cracks and crevices can be possible habitats of bedbugs, seal them properly whenever you see one.

Always keep your house clean. Although bedbugs are not really associated with dirty surroundings, reducing clutter also reduces the number of probable bedbug habitats.

Put diatomaceous soil in probable bedbug habitats. This soil has jagged edges which kills bedbugs that come into contact with its particles. No worries because this soil cannot cause any harm on you.
