The principal behind solar thermal air-conditioning is to replace a large compressor required to compress refrigerant to produce a cooling effect with a refrigerant expander in the form of a thermal heat exchanger. The increase in refrigerant pressure is the same but without the use of electricity to operate the compressor.

Summer in Australia this year is proving to be very hot. Sydney is expected to cool down later this afternoon from a high of early 40degrees Celsius but here in The Wide Bay Burnett area of Queensland, there is no cooling change expected. Unless, of course, you have an air-conditioner that you can switch on to keep your cool while this warm weather wearies the rest of the population.
